Does this number sound familiar? It should. Or have we already forgot what we promised to never forget?
It seems like it was just yesterday that most of the world stood glued to television or computer screens trying to catch the latest news of what was taking place on U.S. soil. Nineteen cowards/terrorists hijacked commercial airliners and began killing innocent men, women and children.
In New York there were 2,606 people killed at the World Trade Center, 87 killed on American Airlines flight 11, and 60 killed on United Airlines flight 175. In Arlington, at the Pentagon, 125 were killed and 59 killed on American flight 77. In Shanksville, PA, 40 died onboard United flight 93.
September 11, 2001 will forever be etched into our memories. As we take time to reflect on the past 10 years since this horrific event, let’s also remember the men and women of the Armed Services that continue the fight against terrorism.
God bless the United States of America.
