Annie Faye Kennamer, 84, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011 at her residence. Mrs. Kennamer was born Feb. 1, 1927 in Bacon County to the late Raymond and Nancy Turner Dyal. Her husband, Robert Kennamer and three brothers and seven sisters preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter, Frieda Whitley of Townsend; two sons and daughters-in-law, Duane and Margaret Whitley of Baxley and Garry and Teresa Whitley of Savannah; one sister, Bernette Miles of Baxley; grandchildren, Christina Grove, Kathy Galan and Brandon Youmans; three great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; special caregivers , Tammy Rangel, Ashley Nelson, Helen Yawn and Kim Lee; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Sept. 3 in the chapel of Swain Funeral Home with the Rev. Walter Langdon officiating. Interment followed in New Hope Cemetery in Alma.
Active pallbearers were Ken Vaughn, Harold Dyal, Carroll Dyal, Brandon Youmans, Christopher Creamer and Doug Harris.
Honorary pallbearers were all family and friends in attendance.
Musical selections were rendered by David Williams.
Arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
