Sheriff Benny DeLoach would like to report the following activity of the Appling County Sheriff’s Office.
Aug. 19, answered a call to Sellers Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated a family member entered his residence and took several items, valued at $330.00.

Aug. 19, answered a call to Ten Mile Road in reference to cruelty to animals. A complainant stated his neighbor’s dog came on his property and attacked his little dog causing injury to his dog.
Aug. 20, answered a call to Hatch Parkway North in reference to a burglary. A complainant stated the back window to the residence was open and missing from the residence is a camera, valued at $600.00.
Aug. 20, answered a call to Asbury Church Road in reference to a civil matter. A brother and a sister had a verbal dispute over right of way on family property.
Aug. 20, answered a call to Lennox Road in reference to damage to property. A complainant stated he ran over a fence post with his four-wheeler, that his sister put on the right of way.
Aug. 20, answered a call to Ben Carter Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated unknown person(s) went inside his shop and took three Husqvarna chain saws, valued at $2,150.00.
Aug. 20, answered a call to Miles Chapel Church Road in reference to a burglary. A complainant stated unknown person(s) broke into her vacant mobile home. Nothing appeared to be missing.
Aug. 20, answered a call to Nails Ferry Road in reference to a dog bite incident. An eight-year-old juvenile was bit in the face by a Pitt Bulldog. The owner of dog stated the dog had been vaccinated. The dog was put to death.
Aug. 20, answered a call to South Main in Surrency in reference to poisoning of dogs. A complainant stated unknown person had poisoned his six Walker Hound dogs. The complainant has a possible suspect.
Aug. 20, answered a call to Willow Lane in reference to a domestic dispute. A complainant stated subject cut the power cord to the mobile home and would not leave the residence. An Adolf Remirez, 25, of Bristol, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
Aug. 21, answered a call to Brown Street in reference to a theft. A complainant stated his boat, valued at $550.00, was stolen from his residence. Investigation continues.
Aug. 21, answered a call to Primrose Lane in reference to a domestic dispute. The complainant stated she was trying to leave her husband when an altercation occurred. The husband had left the residence before officer arrived.
Aug. 21, answered a call to Sumner Road in Surrency in reference to an assault/theft. A complainant stated she and another subject got into an altercation, and that the subject had taken $300.00 in cash from her. The subject had left the residence before the officer arrived.
Aug. 21, answered a call to Ten Mile Road in reference to threats. A complainant stated he and friends were looking for a subject, when unknown person’s stopped and questioned them making threats toward them.
Aug. 22, a complainant came to sheriff’s office to report damage to property. The Complainant stated she found her vehicle damaged where unknown person(s) had tried to gain entry into her vehicle.
Aug. 22, answered a call on Piney Bluff Road in reference to a burglary. Taken was a John Deere tractor, a Bass boat and a few generators. Investigation continues.
Aug. 22, answered a call on Addie Lane in reference to harassing phone calls. A complainant stated that his ex-wife keeps sending text messages. The complainant was advised to speak with the magistrate office.
Aug. 22, answered a call on David Carter Road in reference to domestic. Upon officer arrival, deputies found that the offender had pushed the victim down. Tommy Ryan Overstreet, 38, of Baxley was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
Aug. 22, answered a call on Wayne Jones Road in reference to a domestic dispute. Upon officer arrival, deputies found that spouses had gotten into an argument. Arrested in connection with this incident was Gwen Overstreet, 30, and Bart Roberson, 32, both of Baxley. Both were charged with simple battery/family violence.
Aug. 23, answered a call to Miles Chapel Road in reference to harassment. A complainant stated a subject had made verbal threats and threatened him with a stick. The subject had left the residence before officer arrived.
Aug. 24, answered a call to Ben Carter Road in reference to a theft. A complainant found that a converter valued at $1,000.00 was taken from one of his vehicles. Local businessman contacted the complainant and stated the converter had been brought to him. Katheryn Sue Craven, 58, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with theft by taking. An outstanding warrant is out on Bradley Branch, 25, of Baxley.
Aug. 24, a complainant came to the Appling County Sheriff’s Office to report identity fraud. The complainant found information from the Social Security Office that someone is using her social security number. Investigation continues.
Aug. 25, answered a call to Caney Creek Lane in reference to damage to property. A complainant stated unknown person(s) had tried to pry open several windows and a door of the residence, but failed. The damage to the door and the windows are approximately $1,000.00.
Aug. 25, answered a call to Buckhead Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated taken from residence sometime end of June was a one-person Kayak, blue in color, valued at $250.00. Investigation continues.
Aug. 25, a complainant came to the Appling County Sheriff’s Office to report fraud financial credit card identity. A complainant stated an unknown person had used his identification to open a credit card in his name. Investigation is ongoing.
Aug. 25, answered a call to Zoar Road in reference to illegal dumping. A complainant stated unknown person(s) had dumped diesel fuel on her property.
Aug. 26, answered a call to Johnny Smith Road in reference to damage to property. A complainant stated his son got mad and damaged his front door, but he did not want to press charges.
Aug. 26, answered a call to Howard Brannen Road in reference to a civil matter. A complainant stated a business associate owed him money for pine straw he had sold him in May and had not paid for.
Aug. 26, answered a call to Ben Carter Road in reference to a theft. A
complainant stated taken from her vehicle was her wallet with license and debit card. Also taken was an Acer Tablet computer, valued at $400.00.
Aug. 26, answered a call to Daisy Lane in reference to affray. Two subjects had a physical altercation. Johnny Cisneros, 31, of Baxley, and Chad Aaron Deboard, 23, of Baxley, were arrested and charged with affray.
