Betty Ann Berger Dixon, 85, of Savannah, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born and reared in Athens, and attended local schools there. Betty and her beloved husband, Eugene moved to Savannah in 1973. She was a homemaker and a member of The Cross Road Baptist Church.
Betty was a free spirited person and always saw the good in everything and everybody. She was an inspiration and a friend to all who knew her and will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Eugene Dixon of Savannah; two brothers, Daniel Zuber of Lancaster, CA., David Berger of Athens; a sister, Linda Coley of Athens and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 23 at The Cross Road Baptist Church.
The Funeral Service began at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Buddy Wasson officiating, with burial following in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
