This week the Appling Christian Academy Eagles traveled to Griffin to play Skipstone Academy Warriors. Kick off started at 7:30 p.m. with the temperature at 100 degrees. The Eagles were low on players, dressing out only 13 players. The Warriors had 17 players and had size to their advantage. The game was long and hot, but the Eagles came out with a 42-8 win.

The Eagle defense played a really good game. Wade Edwards led in solo tackles with five. Next at two apiece were Zach Carter, John McLemore, Ben Hiers, Cameron Carter, Brandon Horton and Andrew Phillips. These guys also had many assists apiece. Ben Hiers also had a sack. Reid Edwards stopped a touchdown run on a kickoff.
The Eagles also played very well on offense. Andrew Phillips had 90 yards rushing, John McLemore had 30 yards, and Dallas Johnson plowed through the Warrior defense with 27 rushing yards. The ACA Eagles also had a good passing game with Brandon Horton six for 10 with 147 yards. Andrew Phillips caught two of them for 86 yards. Cameron Carter had two for 40 yards, and Zach Carter made two for 21 yards.
The Appling Christian Academy Eagles will face the Augusta Eagles next Friday. We praise God for our victories and pray to have many more this season.
