James “Jim” Feltham, 80, died Thursday, January 6, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Feltham was born Sept. 20, 1930 in Anniston, Alabama to the late William Feltham and the late Beatrice Orwin Feltham. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Japan. He was retired as President of AKZO Chemical Company. Mr. Feltham was active in Boy Scouts and had achieved the Silver Beaver Award. He was a member of the Appling Country Club and the Baxley Lion’s Club. Jim was very active in other civic and community affairs. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Elizabeth Feltham, a son, William Feltham and two brothers, Kenneth W. F. and Donald J.A. Feltham.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Terry Feltham of Baxley; three grandchildren, Kimball Feltham, Eric Feltham and Sadie Feltham.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8 in the chapel of Swain Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Alderman officiating. Eulogies were given by Sydney Wildes, Vance Faircloth and Bill Baker. Interment followed in Omega Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Jimmy Stipe, Sidney Wildes, Vance Faircloth, Lawrence Proctor, Bill Craft and Alex Johnson.
Musical selections were rendered by David Williams.
