Barbara “Barbie” Stallings Griffin, 32, died Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Community Hospice in Vidalia. She was born to Linda and Curtis Stallings in Appling County on August 16, 1978 and had resided here all of her life. Barbie was a homemaker and attended Sand Hill Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Chris Griffin of Baxley; two daughters, Caroline Griffin and Paige Griffin, both of Baxley; one son, CJ Griffin of Baxley; her father and mother, Curtis and Linda Stallings; two sisters, Bronda Faye Stallings of Baxley and Danielle Dunn of Baxley; one brother, Michael Stallings of Baxley; mother-in-law, Doris Floyd of Snipesville; father-in-law, George Griffin of Baxley; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services where held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30 at Sand Hill Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Allen Carter officiating. Interment followed in Sand Hill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Michael Taylor, T. J. Melton, Justin Melton, Freddie Stallings, Jody Crapps and Tony Crapps.
Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Singh and staff, all cancer survivors, and all family and friends in attendance.
Musical selections were rendered by C.D. selections.
Arrangements were under the direction of David E. Miles Funeral Home.
