Mozella Powell Hall, 77, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2019 due to a brief illness. She was born June 9, 1941 in Baxley, to the late Cornelia Jackson, Henry Powell and David McCall. She married her lifelong love, Ivory Lee Hall, in April of 1957 who preceded her in death in 2000.
Mozella was preceded in death by her siblings, Clinton Powell, Jerry Harris, Barbara Williams, and Ulah McCall.
Mozella loved he family and never met a stranger. Mozella was an excellent cook and made a habit of feeding whoever was hungry. She grew up in the Blarney Community. She was an active member of Mizpah Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as the church mother.
Fond memories of Mozella will forever be cherished by her children; Lorenzo Hall of Baxley, Alford (Sheila) Hall of Hazlehurst, George (Beverly) Hall of Milledgeville, Christopher Hall of Baxley, Philip Hall of Belton, Texas, and Sandy (Michael) Jordan of Baxley, twelve grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren, siblings; James (Frances) Powell of Rivera Beach, Florida, Willa M. Harris Rooks, of Baxley, Vernell (Wilmena) Harris of Baxley, Lawanda (Curtis) Nails of Baxley, Maxine (James) Nails of Baxley, Caroline Faye(Kembrough) Clements of Baxley, David (Elle) McCall of Baxley, Marsha Hartwell of Atlanta, and Annette McCall of Baxley, special friends; Carolyn Reaves and Joyce Skipper. She will also be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
Funeral Services were held Thursday, February 28 at 11:00 A.M.at Mizpah Baptist Church with the Pastor James R. Carlyle and Prophetess Jaquetta Edwards presiding. Interment followed in the Mizpah Baptist Church Cemetery.
Music selections were by Voices of Genesis.
Active Pallbearers were Jermaine McCall, Marcus Hartwell, David McCall III, Wilton McCall, Author McCall and Kelvin Harris.
Honorary Pallbearers were employees of Amoco Fabrics and Fibers and Action Pact Senior Center.
Professional Services were entrusted to Baxley Funeral Home.
