Qualifications for nominations to the “Hall of Fame” include the following:
The person must have resided in Appling County for a period of time.
The person should have been prominent in contributing to the growth, development, and well-being of Appling County.
The person should have made a significant contribution to the history and welfare of Appling County.
The person should have received special and commendable recognition on a local, state, national and international level.
Other criteria should be submitted, if pertinent. Such criteria may include: biography, family genealogy, time of residence in the county, employment, education, military or government service, professional memberships, community memberships, fraternal memberships, business memberships or religious associations. If any offices were held, these should be listed.
Publication or works of art.
Awards and honors received.
Educational, political, artistic, literary or civic, contributions made. (Not all of the above categories are required; however such information will help the committee make a decision and help eliminate broad, non-specific nominations.)
Application forms with complete guidelines are available at the Heritage Center. The final decision on persons accepted into the Hall of Fame rests solely with the Center’s Board of Directors.
